One of the products which has changed greatly over the years is the extensive range of curtain poles which have now become a design and colour feature as well as being functional in our rooms at home.

In this blog we offer help choosing the pole that is most suitable for your windows or doors. Some of the basic factors to consider are:

  • How heavy are your curtains as this will determine the type and diameter of the pole required.

  • The wall structure for fixing the pole needs to be considered as this will determine the type and number of brackets used to fix the pole. This can be decided when a design consultation is carried out in your own home.

  • How much wall space is above and each side of the window to accommodate a pole? If there is insufficient room above the window, then a ceiling fixed pole may be a more suitable option.

  • Do you want the pole to be a design feature of the room? We can recommend traditional, wooden and contemporary metal poles with many designs available in a vast range of colours and finishes such as matt, satin and gloss. Metal poles come with rings or gliders and can be bent to allow the perfect shaped pole to fit any bay window.

  • Finials (the decorative ends of a pole) can finish the desired look of the pole from a modern minimalist style to a classical crafted design enhancing the décor of any room.

These are just some of the few factors to consider as each house and room is so different in terms of styling and décor. We can guide you through this whole process with ease and help you achieve the right solution.
